Visualization researcher Oliver Kreylos has hacked into the xBox 360 controller and turned it into a true 3D video camera. The developer used a custom software that interpolated and reconstructed the video stream fed from the controller and color cameras. The result is an awesome 3D virtual reality than can be manipulated by the user at will.

A developer called Theo Watson has created software which can hook-up the camera-based Microsoft Kinect controller to the Mac.
