Are you planning to jailbreak your PS3 with OzMod’s long-awaited USB stick? Then think before you do it, because now your this action might bring Sony cops to your doorsteps, and even worse, Sony will ban your PS3 remotely.
According to reports, Sony can now detect the software ID the jailbreak program uses, and can ban your PS3 on the basis of that. But if Sony is really capable of detecting PSjb systems on its Playstation network, then we would no longer be able to log into PSN while using the backup manager, which means- no playing online.
However, Sony has currently banned the PSN/consoles that results in the 8002A227 error code, so when you get your PlayStation Jailbreak, it’s advisable not to log into PSN.
The PS Jailbreak allows PS3 owners to run back-up copies of games and pirated titles. In addition, the hack supposedly works with firmware 3.41 on all PlayStation 3 models, including the recently introduced PS3 Slim.

could i ask, lets say i have a real game like call of duty black ops and i play it normally without using the back up manager and sign in, will Sony be able to see the IP, because since im not using the back up manager, so could they see and will i get banned? or is it only if i use the back up manager with game online that they will ban me?
so what i can use it just dont sign in when using it
on the one hand you can use the jailbreak firmware without online connection not to be banned, and on the other hand use an original game to play online. But before play online you’ll have to erase the game history using the following program: erase me, or a similar one not to be detected by sony
