Now if you are finding your iPad Netflix app pretty interesting, and is waiting for the official Netflix app to make it to your iPhone also, then don’t wait any longer. No-no we don’t have the Netflix iPhone app, but sure have a way with which you can run iPad Netflix on your jailbroken iPhone. And let me assure you that the process is pretty simple.
Requirements:
- Jailbroke iPhone4
- Open SSH or access to / via USB cable
- Netflix for iPad
- Perfect Browser
- Paid Netflix account
Instructions:
- Open iTunes on your PC and download Netflix for iPad from iTunes
- In iTunes, right-click the Netflix for iPad application
- Click ‘Show in Windows Explorer’ or ‘Show in Finder’
- Rename Netflix 1.0.4.ipa to Netflix 1.0.4.zip
- Extract the entire ZIP file somewhere
- Go into the extracted folder
- Then the Payload folder and here you’ll see the Netflix.app folder containing the entire app
- Copy Netflix.app folder to your iPhone using SSH
- After you SSH into your phone, navigate to:/private/var/stash/Applications/, which is where the Netflix.app goes
- Change permissions on the Netflix.app folder to 755 using this command: On mac using Cyberduck click on ‘Go – Open in Terminal App’ then login chmod -R 755 Netflix.app
- Remember that if you use the Terminal app on the iPhone to change permissions, make sure to run “su root” or else you will get this error: “Terminal problem. (operation not permitted)”
- Restart your phone
- In the App Store buy Perfect Browser for $1.99
- When it is installed, open it and click the wrenches for settings
- Click on Desktop Rendering then choose Safari iPad and click the Green Check Mark to accept the changes.
Now in Perfect Browser, browse to Netflix and rent as many movies as you want for only $8.99 a month. Free Trial, login, and find a movie to watch. You will then see Perfect browser close and the the Quicktime player will open, so get going.

I can’t seem to get my Ipad Netflix app to change to a zip file when I change the extension from ipa to zip under Windows 7. I’ve watched 2 videos on this and they make it look so easy, so what am I doing wrong?
Do it from a command prompt, Start -> cmd, rename Netflix.ipa Netflix.zip, the problem is Windows 7 is hiding the .ipa extension since it’s a known file type (itunes).
