Amazon finally revealed a new dynamic, improved and better Kindle for you after a long year-and-half wait. It’s latest-iteration Kindle, third-generation e-reader, is lighter weight and is enhanced with better screen that make it the most enticing Kindle yet.

What’s New in the New Kindle?

  • New Pricing: The Wi-Fi-and-3G version of the new Kindle will cost $189, while the Wi-Fi-only model will cost $139
  • An appealing redesigned chassis look
  • An enhanced and better display but retains its predecessor’s 6-inch screen size
  • Faster navigation
  • 15 percent lighter and 21 percent smaller than the second-generation model
  • The screen’s refresh rate is 20% faster than its predecessor’s, which, together with software enhancements, makes the Kindle fly through menus
  • Internal storage can now accommodate up to 3500 books, 2000 more than the previous version
  • The new ones have Wi-Fi inside, so that people at home or at a coffee shop could log on via that network instead

“The hardware business for us has been so successful that we are going to continue,” Amazon founder and chief executive Jeff Bezos told the Times in an interview. “I predict there will be a 10th-generation and a 20th-generation Kindle. We are well-situated to be experts in purpose-built reading devices,” he added.

The new Kindle is available for pre-orders now, and will ship on August 27.
