Panasonic goes 3D with its interchangeable camera lens for taking 3D still images and also unveiled a consumer camcorder capable of recording 3D video. Well-matched models would be announced before the end of the year, along with the release date of the new lens.
Now talking about the camcorder, HDC-SDT750, Panasonic said that the device is the “world’s first consumer 3D camcorder,” which will come equipped with a lens adapter that can capture videos in 3D. The lens will record images for the left and right eyes simultaneously. The video will be recorded at 960 x 1080 pixels.
The camcorder can:
- Shoot 1080p hi-def in AVHD
- Features a Leica Dicomar lens
- 12x optical zoom
- Time Lapse recording video
- Come loaded with a built-in 5.1-channel audio system
- Focus Microphone feature that will pick up more concentrated sound
- Incorporates video editing software- the users can edit 3D videos and keep them on Blu-Ray discs or DVDs
- The SDT750 is priced at $1,399.95 and it will ship in October
Earlier, we saw Panasonic and other consumer electronic giants pushing 3D television expansively since the first professional 3D content begins to emerge on Blu-ray Disc and via television networks. Now, with a 3D camcorder, we can anticipate greater experience in the world of photography too. Consumers adopting 3D videography just might be the push needed to popularise 3D televisions, whose sales have been lacking so far.
