Amazon has announced the refreshed Kindle DX black version only at a price of $379 (previous Kindle DX model cost $489). After Xbox 360 going black, it’s time for the Kindle. Practically lower than the original Kindle DX white version, the Black edition 9.7-inch is 50% better in contrast, which gives a better reading experience.

According to Amazon, the new Kindle DX allows one to read where ever you wish, be it indoors or outdoors. There are over 620,000 books in the Kindle Store, with over 200,00 books added in the last six months, including 108 of the 111 New York Times bestsellers costing $9.99 or less.

The Kindle DX comes with a graphite case, is a third of an inch thick, carries 3,500 books and downloads new content via the 3G network in less than 60 seconds, including being able to last a week on a battery charge with wireless turned on.
