Heard about Sony PSP2? Not yet! Well then let me inform you that soon Sony will be announcing a proper sequel to the PSP in just a couple of weeks at E3. With E3 just around the corner in June all shall be revealed as to how Sony plans to tackle Nintendo’s 3DS, also due for announcement at the show. Exciting!
Well the rumours are originating from within several gaming publishers, which reveals that a release for the highly anticipated handheld may not be too far off as first thought. According to a report from “Playstation Lifestyle”, a few profile blogs have been revealed from a couple of people who have listed the PSP2 as something they are working on at the moment.
First up is Dominic Mason, Director at AtomFire Productions, which is a game development house located in UK. He has listed the PSP2 as one of his current ‘interactive entertainment projects’. Next up is Hilke Muslim who is based in Romania and has stated that she is the ‘casting assistant’ for the Sony PSP2.
It also seems obvious that Sony will push forward with the freshly released PSP Go and replace the PSP-3000 with the PSP2…although we’re starting to wonder if the PSP Go will have enough going for it to compete with the new portable option. According to BSN, the new generation of portable technology from Sony will indeed feature PowerVR SGX543 graphics. They also add that they know when Sony plans to put the PSP2 on store shelves but will only say it’ll launch within “the next 12 months.” Either way, it’s going to be an interesting year for handheld electronic units.
