Microsoft’s Natal Coming To Xbox 360 This October: Gaming Without Controller
Microsoft finally may launch their Project Natal add-on for the Xbox 360 gaming console in October this year. This is slightly earlier than the expected launch time-line. But it was pretty much confirmed that Microsoft would launch it before the start of the holiday season to gain the most from it.
Now those who are new to Natal, let me brief you what’s it all about. Project Natal is a revolutionary new way to play, with “No Controller” required for gaming and entertainment. Yes!That’s right. Natal (pronounced “nuh-tall”) is a unique way to play on your Xbox 360 which comes with a lot more of freedom.
Whats more? In addition to tracking your full body movement in 3-D, it also recognises your face and facial expressions. It can even detect the change of emotion in your voice. The device also remembers your face and voice so that you can connect to Xbox LIVE without the need to reach for a controller.
Sounds as if the idea is to nullify anything that Nintendo Wii has to offer. Sony incidentally have similar plans with their PS3 console but they would be launching a new controller for motion gaming.
And yes don’t miss out LG. Let me tell you that LG and Microsoft will jointly market LG’s 3D televisions with 3D games for the Xbox 360 in South Korea, and then later expand the partnership into the rest of the Asia Pacific region. LG will be bundling 3D games for the Xbox 360 with their LG 55/47LX9500 LED televisions.
This means that the Xbox 360 will be able to play 3D games without any additional hardware, just like the PS3, so we can probably expect Microsoft to tie up with some other manufacturers as well.
And before I end, let me add something more. It goes on to speculate that Nintendo could also slash the the price of Wii later this year. Too many benefits at the same time I guess.
