Apple’s World Wide Developer Conference is scheduled to take place from June 7 to June11. San Francisco’s Moscone conference centre will once again host the event. So hurry up and book your tickets for $1,600.
The annual conference for Mac OS X and iPhone OS developers is expected to include tracks covering the iPhone, the Mac, and IT. Sessions will also address working with the new iPhone OS 4 SDK, multitasking apps for the iPhone and iPad, coding for Mac OS X, deploying and managing network applications, working with iAd, HTML5 local storage, and more. Apple has already made it clear that iPhone OS 4.0 will surely be a headliner. Considering that the iPhone 3GS was announced at WWDC 2009, the 3G at WWDC 2008, and the fact that we’ve had a peek at likely prototype of a future iPhone, it seems a safe bet that a fourth generation iPhone may show up as well. During the conference, Apple will also announce five iPad and five iPhone Apple Design Award winners. Developers won’t need to submit apps for consideration because Apple plans to select the App Store for the titles that it thinks are most deserving to win.
“This year’s WWDC offers developers in-depth sessions and hands-on working labs to learn more about iPhone OS 4, the world’s most advanced mobile operating system,” said Scott Forstall, Apple’s senior vice president of iPhone Software. “WWDC provides a unique opportunity for developers to work side-by-side with Apple engineers and interface designers to make their iPhone and iPad apps even better.”
This year’s WWDC was announced surprisingly late, and also happens to fall in the general window when new iPhones could be released. WWDC remains a prominent once-a-year event where developers have an opportunity to learn more about developing for the Mac and iPhone, and also meet Apple’s own developers face to face.
