2010 Porsche Panamera: Super Luxury Car Of The Year
The 2010 “Porsche Panamera” ranks 1 out of 6 Super Luxury Cars according to a ranking analysis conducted by U.S News & World Report, a ranking and reviews website. The new 2010 Porsche Panamera is the first 4-door luxury sedan offered by Porsche. Pricing for the 2010 Porsche Panamera will be $89,800 for the Panamera S, $93,800 for the all-wheel-drive Panamera 4S and $132,600 for the Panamera Turbo.
The Panamera is a front engined and rear wheel drive sports car sedan. The Porsche Panamera will have three models using three different engine choices, the Panamera S using a 4.8-liter V-8 with 400 horsepower, the all-wheel-drive Panamera 4S using a 4.8-liter V-8 with 405 horsepower and the all-wheel-drive Panamera Turbo features a turbocharged 4.8-liter V-8 with 500 horsepower. The V-6 and V-8, normal versions of the Panamera comes as standard with rear-wheel drive. The top model in the range with its turbocharged power unit, in turn, features PTM (Porsche Traction Management) with extra-light, active all-wheel drive. PTM is also available on the other models. As an option the Panamera Gran Turismo will be available with Porsche’s Sports Chrono Package giving the car even more sporting and dynamic engine and gearshift characteristics and enhancing the dynamic performance of the Panamera to an even higher level of perfection. The Porsche Panamera will be produced at Porsche’s Leipzip Plant being the world’s most uncompromising sedan, the all-new Porsche Panamera combines breathtaking performance with indulgent accommodations for four adults.
Even auto writers have attempted to compare it to specially-tuned sport sedans like the BMW M5, exotic cars like the Maserati Quattroporte and super-luxury cruisers like the BMW 7-Series, but every comparison falls unvalid. There may be, however, if you wait a little while. Aston Martin will introduce its own Panamera-fighter, the Rapide, for the 2011 model year. Lamborghini has also show a design study for a four-door sport sedan, the Estoque, at several auto shows, but officials at the Italian automaker say they haven’t decided whether or not to build that car yet. If the Panamera succeeds in the market place, that may push them into it.
