If you carrying an Apple Aperture, its time for you to update to the latest version 3.0.2 just by visiting the Aperture Download page at the official apple website. If you’re unable to upgrade to Aperture 3, this page provides a link to updates for earlier versions of Aperture.
The latest version comes with new loaded features like face detection and recognition tools, GPS enabled to tell one where the photos were actually shot, edge aware brushes along with plenty of professional imaging effects, fit to screen for editing and creating slideshows along with other more than 200 other new features. Aperture 3 also includes a powerful plug-in architecture for the seamless integration of popular third-party image editing and export plug-ins. This plug-ins allows you to extend the capabilities of Aperture by accessing an entire industry’s worth of imaging expertise, without ever leaving Aperture.
Now the question is what if one possess iPhoto? You’ll notice that the things you’ve done in iPhoto can be done in Aperture 3 too with even more exact and impressive results. All you need to do is to shift from iPhoto to Aperture 3 first. Firstly, Open Aperture 3 with a new empty library. Choose iPhoto Library from the Import menu to import your entire library. Choose In their current location to store files. With this option, Aperture won’t duplicate your photos in the Aperture library, it uses the ones you already have in iPhoto. Aperture 3 creates a new folder named iPhoto Library and a subfolder named Events. The Events folder contains your projects. After experimenting with Aperture features, you can (1) delete the Aperture library and keep your images in iPhoto or you can choose Consolidate Masters for Library to move your masters and your work from iPhoto to Aperture. If you chose to consolidate your masters, you can delete the iPhoto library once the consolidation is complete.
