HP’s Slate, a touch screen computer will be available on European stores this coming September, at a price tag of 400 Euros. This makes it slightly more expensive than the WiFi version of the iPad especially for the U.S market and yet is not known what will be its price in the European market.

According to Clipset, a Spanish Newspaper,it has an Atom CPU, Flash Support, USB connections, memory card reader and a webcam along with Windows 7. HP has always led the world in computer sales as it has just recorded $25 million in handheld sales in the most recent survey. While Apple recorded $5.6 billion in iPhone revenue in its most recent survey.

The destiny of HP Slate might have implication for Microsoft and Intel. They are working hard to make sure they are part of any emerging tablet revolution. Opponents have disagreed that Windows 7, with new touch support, isn’t suitable to finger input, while others ask whether Intel’s chips can offer the battery life necessary to compete with smart phone processors.

HP Slate was actually born in HP Labs five years ago, but wasn’t ready to be made public as it carried a price tag of $1,500. But now the price problem along with it features are finally fixed and the team is sure to bad a mass market success. Now Slate can be available at low cost with low-power processors, Windows 7 and the ability to create this proposal with new kinds of touch technology will be a standout compared to its competitors this year.
