Kindle’s iPad Blues

It is rumored that Amazon is all set to introduce a browser application for its e-book reader device, Kindle. This comes as an aftermath post launch of iPad. iPad is gearing up to push sales starting this April in US and Canadian market.

Fearing that iPad could eventually become Kindle killer, Amazon is taking proactive measures to sustain the market share in Europe, US and South America.

It is anticipated that they are developing a robust platform for their supreme product, Kindle. This would enhance the capabilities of the device to manifolds and may give iPad tough run for their money. However, when would the new product from Amazon be released it is not clear.

It has to setup networking alliances with AT&T or T-Mobile or Verizon in order to capitalize from the user base of these telecom giants.

Analysts believe that Kindle has already lost quite a ground on the e-book reader market. Post iPad release it would be difficult for Kindle to sustain the pressure from global users on feature enhancement. Any step taken by Amazon should be strategic in nature and long term impact has to be studied.

Ideally, they should re-launch Kindle in all new way!
