Sony has announced the name of its most anticipated motion controller as the PlayStation Move at a conference during GDC 2010. The motion controller looks like a microphone with a pingpong ball like top which has an LED inside.
The PlayStation Move will hit the market this fall and will be available with three options:
1) Only PlayStation Move under $100.
2) PlayStation Move with PlayStation Eye camera.
3) PlayStation Move bundled with Eye Camera and PS3 console.
The PlayStation Move controller can be used with games that involve guns, swords, punching and much more. The Move wand was demonstrated with several motion control games that included a medieval sword game. The Move controller appeared capable of processing every gesture and angle in the game including right or left hand slashes to shield blocks to a hands-behind-your-back stance.
Existing games like a cooperative-angled demo of LittleBigPlanet were also demonstrated where one player controlled the game with a regular PS3 gamepad while a second player used the Move wands to handle the environment.
