Apple’s iPad Tablet: 13 MM Thick And Allows 10 Hours Of Uninterrupted Video
Apple iPad | vijay | February 16, 2010 at 8:22 amApple iPad, a gadget everybody has been awaiting Apple to deliver for years has finally arrived with features that may change the way we browse internet and computing as a whole.
Jobs said the “magical and revolutionary” hybrid gadget offers a better way to browse through the web, check email and play games than its predecessors.
The iPad is 13.4 mm thick and weighs between 680 and 730 grams, it features a 24.63-cm multi-touch high-resolution LED display and will be launched in Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi plus 3G versions. Its long-life power unit will allow users to watch video for up to 10 consecutive hours.
The 25-centimeter display is smaller than a laptop’s and weighs less than a kilogram and measuring more than a centimeter thick which makes the iPad extremely portable. It features a calendar, an address book and iTunes music library built in, and also offers thousands of other cool applications.
Support for Adobe’s Flash format is missing from iPad. Why? May be because Flash is processor-intensive, which means it saps more battery power. Also the fact that it is a closed format controlled by Adobe might be another reason. With YouTube and Vimeo moving away from Flash, don’t expect Apple to add support any time soon.
The iPad will become available in March, offered in storage capacities of 16, 32 and 64 GB.
