Nintendo released two new games this week including the most anticipated title Contra Rebirth, an all new title that’s available exclusively on WiiWare for 1000 points.
Contra Rebirth is a new Contra adventure that lets up to two players on the same T.V. take control of Bill Rizer and Genbei Yagyu to rescue the Earth from the Neo-Salamander Force as they try to take out the Contra. Many of the power-ups from the original series are back, along with a few new ones.
Chief Salamander and his Neo-Salamander Force travel back to 1973 A.D. to invade Earth. They land in Central America and take control of the Shizuoka ruins on the Yucatan Peninsula. There, the aliens plan the destruction of all the “Contra” on Earth. The Galactic President calls on Lance Bean, a member of the elite “Contra” warriors, to save the day, but his sudden disappearance jeopardizes the safety of the planet.
Now, Bill Rizer and samurai Genbei Yagyu are the last hope for Earth. They must pick up their weapons and defeat the evil Neo-Salamander Army before all is lost. Experience the fast-paced, action-packed, side-scrolling adventure that pioneered the run-and-gun genre.
Contra Rebirth will accommodate up to two players for a slightly higher price of 1,000 Wii Points. According to the ESRB, this game is poison to anyone under 10 years old. Someone must have decided guns and real-life countries were slightly on the mature side.
