Pantex added three High Def but affordable digital cameras, including a semi-rugged waterproof model dubbed the Pentax Option WS80. The line-up offers an entry-level shooter for as low as $130, a $250 waterproof camera and a smooth-looking model clad in your choice of three colors.

1) The Pentax Optio WS80 is a 10-megapixel model with a 5X internal lens that can go as deep as 5 feet under water. Optio WS80 packs many of the P80′s features into its waterproof frame. It can handle water depths up to five feet and offers HD video captures of 1280 by 720 at 30 progressive frames per second (720p30). Since the WS80 is not ruggedized, its overall build is a bit smaller than the earlier ruggedized W80. The device will debut in September for $249.95.

2) The Pentax Optio P80
is a ultraslim, 12-megapixel camera and is a follow-up to this year’s Optio P70, along with a bargain price it offers a good range of specs and a 0.8-inch-thick frame. The Pentax Optio P80 will also pack in Digital Filters like Toy Camera for a retro feel, and Dynamic Range Adjustment for ironing out shadows and highlights.
The Pentax Optio P80 will offer a Digital Wide mode to capture panoramic shots and a Frame Composite Function, which tacks on a decorative photo frame to an image. The Pentax Optio P80 will be able to reach 6400 ISO, though images will be capped at a smaller resolution.

3) The Pentax Optio E80 an update to the company’s entry-level, AA-battery-powered E70. It’s a pretty basic model compared with the P80, which explains why Pentax is stressing its ease of use instead. Unlike the other new cameras, the E80 will have Pentax’s standard digital image stabilization rather than the company’s advanced “Pixel Track SR” offering.
