TomTom iPhone Navigation Applications Will Make GPS Device Obsolete
GPS Reviews | nawed | June 9, 2009 at 5:49 amTomTom is to release a turn-by-turn directions app for the new iPhone 3.0 OS. The app will deliver all the TomTom features that we know and love in an iPhone interface. TomTom for iPhone apps can respond to calls, but probably only if you want to. More details soon after the app goes live to the App Store. The first, the TomTom navigation application for iPhone, is an Apple version of the turn-by-turn software, including IQ Routes as well as the most recent maps from Tele Atlas. The second is the TomTom car kit for iPhone. The specially developed product enables secure docking, enhanced GPS performance, clear voice instructions, hands-free calling and in-car charging.
TomTom is currently the only provider of navigation products to team up with Apple’s iPhone to date, and it looks to be a good move for the company who stands with a 1.5 billion dollar debt. There were no details given to the exact date the TomTom software and hardware would be available for the the iPhone, nor was there pricing any pricing info at this time. The TomTom for iPhone app provides GPS favorite locations, advanced
planning, POIs searching, turn-by-turn directions, and voice control. When an iPhone user will buy the TomTom app, he will receive the TomTom Car Kit which allows users to dock the iPhone in the car in landscape or portrait mode.
