Top Five Headphones review

As we all spend a lot of time listening to music so it is a good idea to invest in some quality headphone.
Here is the list of top five headphones:

1) Shure SE530:
shure e500pth 20 Top Five Headphones reviewThe sound quality is amazing, better than the average home stereo. Each side has two woofers and a tweeter. The sound isolation works pretty well easily blocking out most outside sound when using the supplied foams. The cords are thicker and where they attach to the earphones or accessories is very well reinforced. The bass is thumping and punchy and not overpowering the other sound elements but is present and rich. The midrange is very well done it never gets overpowered by the bass or highs and is crystal clear.
As the cables are bulky and heavy and they won’t stay sealed in your ears when jogging.

2) Sennheiser HD-280 Pro:

senheisser280 Top Five Headphones reviewThe signal is very clean, thanks in part to the oxygen free copper cabling used. The bass is actually rich, clear and punchy without being boomy. Because they are on the treble end of the spectrum, playing them too loud can be harmful for the ears.
The biggest attraction of these headphones is the use of passive noise attenuation which mean there is no artifact from electronic noise that is usually the case in Active Noise Reduction sets. It also means that they are very tight in fact around four Newtons of force are applied, a number significantly larger than most headphones.
As many users have experienced that this headphone sound great after they played music loudly for nearly a week as this process loosens the diaphragm of the headphone.

3) Koss Porta Pro:

koss porta Top Five Headphones reviewThese headphones have over the ear speakers, but they are an open air design, not like the big studio monitor style headphones. The wire forms a Y shape with one wire going to each ear from a single wire ending in a mini plug. You get enough length to plug into a portable MP3 player or a nearby Receiver with headphones out. People do notice the metal band on the top of  head, which sometimes pulls some strands of hair out.Koss Porta Pro is popular because it is lightweight, comfortable, affordable ($50 bucks at most stores), excellent dynamic range and frequency response equals great sounding music. The earpieces loop around the upper edge of the ear and are quite comfortable. If you listen to more rock and hip hop, you’ll be pleased with the porta pros.

4) Sennheiser HD-595:
hd 595 Top Five Headphones reviewThe 595s are everything they promise to be. The high-end of the 595′s was a little better somehow than the 580′s a little smoother, a little more depth. As a 50 ohm headphone, the 595s are easier to drive than most other high end headphones (including the Sennheiser 580, 600, and 650) that are rated at 120 to 300 ohms or more. These will work fine with an iPod or other portable device. There is not a lot of pressure on your head but they have a snug fit. The pads are very soft and not irritating. They look cool, they are super lightweight, and they come with this nifty headphone ‘stand’ that clamps to a table for hanging the ‘phones when not in use. The only negative thing one can say about it is that sound leaks through these headphones. It might bother others and outside noise might bother you.

5) Grado SR80i:

6226 Top Five Headphones reviewThey are neutral, accurate, and don’t favor low, mid, or high range. As you increase the volume the sound doesn’t change, it just gets louder. However, don’t let the mini plug fool you, these headphones were not made for portable music. They’re very light, they cover ears quite well, and they don’t squeeze much. They won’t serve you well if you plan to use them with an iPod in a busy gym or on a noisy bus as they exclude very little ambient noise. These are excellent headphones at the price of $95. The low, middle and high frequencies are well balanced (i.e., there is little “coloration” of the sound), and the level of detail in the sound is remarkable.
